Leo says the darnedest things...

When playing with Lily Leo knows that sneezing will make her laugh so he will smile at her saying "aachoo" but lately he also does this snort nose blowing sound and then shouts 'I'm neezing!"

He has been going to bed without a fight (very unusual for him) but about 10 minutes after laying down he will come out to the living room or kitchen shrug his shoulders and simply say "I can't seep" very cute. Thankfully if you go lay down with him after that he falls asleep within just a few minutes.

Sometimes he just falls asleep anywhere...

If you look closely you will see he has my eyeshadow all over his cheek.

He is still very much in his "I need milk" stage when he first wakes up in the morning. He comes out of his room hair all fluffy and eyes still sleepy and puffy whispering "I need milk, I need milk" Toddlers version of coffee I suppose!

He can name all the Thomas trains by heart now ( don't know if that is a good thing or not??) and his favorite  DVD is Thomas' Rescue off Misty Island or as he refers to it "missy isLAND" which he is watching right now.

He loves to go see the real trains pass through town, from his bedroom window he has a great view of the tracks and when he hears the horn he runs to his room shouting "I hear train, I hear train"

"I hear train"

He loves the get the mail!

He has started telling Lily that certain toys are "mine" but he is very good about replacing what she has with another. "Here Lily you play with this" I am grateful she is still too young to fight back!

He use to always refer to her as "E" and now it is few and far between that we hear "E" He can pronounce Lily very well now. Big boy!

He was upset he couldn't wear his new winter coat outside, sorry buddy it's still 90 degrees!
Last night we had Brenden for a sleepover and for once there was hardly any fighting, thank the Lord. The boys are learning to play with one another very nicely and Leo was almost giddy that Brenden was here. Shouting "Brenden is here!!" then laughing hysterically.

I cooked him macaroni and cheese for lunch yesterday and I love how he calls it "roni"

He still yells "dinosaur coming" and hops on the nearest couch, chair or lap whenever he hears a loud noise.

He loves getting chicken nuggets with Grandma and Grandpa

He helps me clean now  by wiping the counters or sweeping. He likes to "cean" as he says it.

He is also still very tedious on lining up his cars and trucks then showing them off with such pride.

Sunday Funday

Yesterday morning Leo woke up in a fantastic mood he was running around laughing and playing instantly (it usually takes him a good 30 minutes and a 8oz sippy of milk to join the rest of us in the land of awake) He ran into our room jumping on our bed and talking to Lily (who had already been up for a good couple hours)  then he runs out the door saying "good-bye" slamming the door! So i thought we had done something to bring out the angry in him but then not even a second later he flings the door back open shouting "Hello everybody!" He then repeats this "goodbye" *slams door* "hello everybody" about 3 more times, very cute!

We had a pretty good Sunday Funday because Mike was off work and off call! So we enjoyed the day together and it was so nice! Chinese for lunch at Dillons, a trip to Lowes and a good nap! Wonderful Sunday :)

He had to have a donut with "minkles"
He was bulking her in!
She did have a hair bow for our outing but Daddy lost it ;)

When I was getting Leo ready for bed as I was pulling his shirt over his hair he shouts "I'm Handsome!"  Jeez!

Lily has also been showing more passion for playing with toys and I am starting to actually tell them to share! Oh the days ahead...

Lily loved her bath *Literally the first time*

Bath time is so sweet
Relaxing before bed
Wish we could have more family days like this!

New Boots!

Lily is all ready for fall with her new cowgirl boots! She will be so stylish with all her outfits :)

This and That

The weather is absolutely gorgeous lately! The cooler weather ( 90 degrees!!) has made it easier to play outside with Leo in longer stretches= a very worn out boy! He woke up yesterday morning and came out to the couch wrapped himself up in the blanket and said "still sleepy...watch Thomas" so he spent a relaxing 45 minutes sipping on milk watch Thomas before starting his day!

sleepy head!

He has been changing so rapidly lately, his sentences are forming  more and more and his words are becoming so clear. There are a few sayings that I don't really know what he is talking about but those are few and far between.  I almost miss his baby talk but then we have Lily on the other side of the spectrum where she is just beginning to form her words, which is fun to hear! She FINALLY has said Mama!! Praise the Lord She does love me! Other words that are common to hear from her are "dada" "no. no. no" "ya ya" and NOW "mama" She also is a huge fan of blowing raspberries...she unfortunately has spit on several strangers while out running errands. Good thing she is such a cute baby!

Lazy morning

Jenkins doesn't know about Lily yet...

playing away in his room

With Fall just around the corner I am really getting my mind set on making a routine for Leo. This has been a huge fail of mine over the summer, we have been very leisure on what we do and he stays up until about 930 on average so I really need to get my act together. We are setting a time to use flash cards and he loves to color. I plan on making a reading/quiet time before his nap so that he settles down a bit before going to sleep, that boy could go,go, go if I'd let him!

Playing the rain!

Leo since he has been staying up later he always ends up asking "where did Lily go" after she goes to bed...it takes alot of effort to not have him go "awake" her up! He loves to play this "go sleep/awake" game where he lays down closes his eyes "snores" saying he's "tired" then within a few seconds he pops up saying "Leo awake!" He does this with Lily also so when she actually is sleeping he doesn't like that she isn't playing! He always ends up in her crib saying "Lily awake!!" Crazy boy...

Speaking of "crazy boy" I should stop calling him that because he has started this taz-manian devil spin where he spins in circles, spits a little with his tongue and then shouts "I'm crazy" followed but hysterical laughter...it actually is very hilarious! I need to video it, but he's so quick!

Putting on Mommy's glasses while refusing to change his diaper.  silly boy!

Doctor's Appointment

I told her she was getting her shots and she must not have
believed me  because she thought I was joking!!

She is a healthy little girl! She passed with flying colors according to Dr. H BUT she does need to start being more mobile so we will go back at 15 months and hopefully she is walking by then, she is so laid back!

One Year Stats:
Weight: 19.2 lbs

Height: 28 inches
And Growing!
Another cute picture taken at the doctor's office.

Our Little Girl

One year ago at this time I was running around like a crazy Mama doing last minute house cleaning, making tutu's, catching up with laundry and making future dinners all while having contractions one after another! I had no sleep that night between the excitement of going into labor and checking off things on my to-do list. After a restless night of tossing and turning with contraction after contraction we checked into Wesley around 6am where I continued in labor until 2:18pm. We were then blessed with our precious little girl Lillian Irene! I can't wrap my head around that it has been a year but at the same time I look over her first year and we all have changed so much.

She is now a bubbly little girl who loves to roll around and kick her legs with laughter, play with her toys and watch movies with her big brother!

She is a daddy's girl if I ever seen one but she loves her mama too.

She is a HUGE fan of strawberries and loves applesauce and if you combine the two she will be your best friend for life!

Her words are dada, no, no, yaya, and I swore I heard mama earlier today *wink*

She LOVES to lay on her back on the bed and kick her legs followed by self induced hysterical laughter.

We taught her to "high-five" the other day (you have to physically do it for her) and she cracks up!

Her and Leo's sibling bond is amazing to me. They laugh with each other, she will "yell" at him, and they will hold hands if they are lying by one another.

Lily has also brought out a side in Mike that I absolutely adore, the way he lights up when she smiles at him saying "dada" is beyond cute. He has turned into a huge softy because of her...I can't imagine how wrapped around her finger he will be when she learns to talk!

We also found out her love for balloons while taking her birthday pictures, she can't get enough of the things...we should just give her a box of balloons for her birthday gift ;)

She is still very much into her bottle so we will see how hard it is to ween her off of that...

She is starting to become cuddly with stuffed animals. Her two favorite are a pink giraffe that she got for valentines day from my mom and a kstate bear that Mike actually gave me while we lived in Manhattan.

She is ever changing and I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Our little Princess the day she was born

Happy Birthday Lillian Irene!

"Ban-dade"

He also got into the baby powder
right before this picture...if you couldn't tell!

We all have boo boo's every once in awhile but lately everytime he hits, bumps or touches anything he needs a band-aid. "I need ban-dade" He's pretty cute. He has "cars" ones too!

Everybody Line Up!

Leo is very particular with his car playing lately. He is very careful on how he lines his cars up and pushes them around! He shows you with his arms stretched out wide telling you "Look! Perfect!" should I worry about ocd?? *joking*

These are actually new wooden trucks we bought for him at Target, I love them! They are so sturdy and only 2 bucks each!!

matching yellows

"This is the life" Leo says!

Cute things He did today:

  • We left the house early this morning to go to Grandma Julies and he decided he wanted to wear his "cars" pajamas all day!
  • When we left Mike's parents he said "bye papaw going to my house see ya later in a minute" In one long breath!
  • He also told Julie when we left that he was going to go see his "other Grandma" Which we were! He's so smart.
  • He decided to mark all over his downstairs bookcase with a pen..telling me afterwards "uh-oh...oooo nooo Leo" while we were cleaning it up.
  • He has watched Thomas a little too much lately I think because he was running around saying "Hi Everybody *mumbles* Sodor" (The island where Thomas lives)
  • We've been watching "Rio" and he asked to watch "birdies" (which he says so cute!!) while shaking is bottom. They dance all through the movie.
  • Fun Stuff today!

Almost One!

Lily's Birthday is Friday!! We have been taking pictures left and right for her big day. She loves the camera and the camera loves her!

She can't believe she is going to be One either!

It's exhausting turning One!

YUM!

Pretty Princess!

GO KSU!
That's not even all of them (I have to save some for Friday's post)

The things Lily does:

She still says "dada" "yaya" "no, no, no" and spits at everyone!

If she is sitting on the ground and gets excited she will literally try to pull her self up but ends up just scooting her bottom!

She loves playing with her toy drums

She is a very picky girl with temperature, she hates to be hot but she ates eating things cold, jeez!

She is very animated with Leo and yells gibber gabber at him all the time.

Leo Says...

On the way home today he was in the back yelling "ROAR I'M A DINOSAUR" which he usually does on a daily basis already but today he told me he was a yellow dinosaur!...speaking of dinosaur's when he hears a loud noise he always is very dramatic (in a fun way) running and yelling "Dinosaur coming!"

When he coughs he says "I'm ok" afterwards

When he is being naughty and we tell him to say "I'm sorry" he will quickly say "sorry"...followed by..."I don't want to say sorry, I don't want to say sorry" shaking his head fiercely

When you leave somewhere he is very tedious on saying goodbye, usually to June and Jenkins but also "bye-bye Daddy's car" anything he sees he says "bye bye" to. "bye bye somebody's house" "bye bye daddy's work"

We have taught him that when crossing the street to watch out for cars and to hold hands. Luckily he has caught on very well because he will not cross with out saying "wait wait cars coming" while holding out his hand :)

He loves his sister and sometimes is very overly affectionate by putting her in a headlock hug saying "come here Lily" followed by a big kiss!

He will sometimes get on Mike's laptop and say "I'm working" while he speedily types.

If I call for him while he's playing downstairs he will call up "Coming, just a minute"

He will randomly tell me "He is so busy" while he is playing with his cars...which he lines up in a row all over the house!

"Toy Story" has replaced "Cars" as of late "I want to watch "wood-dee" (He drags out Woody as long as he can.

When Mike Leaves for work it's always "bye bye Daddy, go to work!" "We love you".

Sleepover Memories

I am a big believer that your siblings and cousins are your first best friends and I'm grateful Leo and Brenden are so close in age because it's so fun to watch them grow together! We have Brenden over for a sleepover at least if not twice a month, the boys are still challenging when they spend alot of time together but that is expected when they are two...they don't call them terrible two's for nothing! They do have fun last week we even took them swimming!
We started the evening with a Chinese dinner that Leo ate up like crazy! They watched The Lion King downstairs on the projector and had fun playing with all the toys in the basement. Usually we have your typical toddler fights of "that's mine, no that's mine" but this last time the boys surprisingly shared pretty well, I was so proud, haha.
beep! beep!

The boys decided to wake up at the grand hour of 530 AM (very unlike Leo) and they watched Thomas' Misty Island Rescue before we headed out for an afternoon of swimming!
The loved these fountains!

snack break!

Lily does NOT like the heat, can you tell?

All Smiles after AC is on her!
