Mr. Helpful

Leo woke up with Mike's alarm the other morning and I wasn't quite fast enough for him because I was still in my room feeding Lily, This is what I found him doing in the kitchen when I was done....
Big Boy!

Even cleaning the counters!

Tanganyika

Friday we took a trip to the wildlife park and this time we were able to go with My Aunt Gina my Cousin Bridget and her girls. Leo had a blast following Haley around! He was  a little more adventuresome with feeding the animals this time.

Here he was feeding the Giraffe "come here giraffe, come here" and then he would throw the lettuce at the animal not realizing he actually had to get close to that long tongue!

The birds hadn't been eating for a few days but it didn't take long for Leo to warm up to them!

He loved it!

They thought the red panda was "so cute"

The goats were H-U-N-G-R-Y
We went first thing in the morning so all the animals were super friendly and I'm sure starving! The bunnies were cute but poor Tess almost got attacked by the turtles! We took a camel ride (Leo's 2nd time now!) and were greeted my over friendly Lemurs ready for their craisins!
It's hard work!
I'm afraid that when we go the zoo Leo is going to expect as much action as he gets here!

Growing So Fast

I took this picture of Leo the other day when he was finishing up his lunch, look how grown up he is! I had to do a double take at the photo. He is growing so fast, changing every day. I can't keep up with the little man!

Leo's World

  • He is very big on singing "Happy Birthday" right now.
  • He loves to count 1-10 and then scream "yey!"
  • He absolutly refuses to have diaper/clothes on while in the house, what can I say he enjoys being naked I guess.
  • chocolate milk solves everything!
  • 'I do it" or "I got it" is heard from Him a million times daily.
  • A "show" and popcorn are needed nightly before bed. Mommy's habits are rubbing off on him...
  • He bites his nails
  • He loves giving "big hugs"
  • When he poops he must "see it" after taking the diaper off. and he usually yells "Big Poop!"
  • He has a mouthful of teeth!
  • He keeps me busy every minute of the waking day but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Photo Shoot

Here are some of Lily's 9 month photos!

more to come!

Terrible Two's, no joke!

In Leo's lifetime we have gone to the store hundreds of times and in my mind some of them weren't worth the trip but last night was my true test! We went to the grocery store just the two of us (which I thought was going to be easy) and he was A-W-F-U-:L the worst he has ever been! Screaming, kicking, I literally had to hold him down in the cart with all my might! A employee thought I was kidnapping the boy. Well as I was strolling around throwing our necessities in the cart contemplating if I should just run out he finally somewhat calmed down I got him a chicken strip dinner with a chocolate milk and the my Leo was back! Who know a little food in his tummy would solve the worlds problems. After that it was an enjoyable experience spending 1 on 1 time with him but I sure had to work for it!

If I could only get the surveillance video so I could show him when he is older...

Home Improvement

With just moving into the house we have been doing alot of working inside and out to clean and spruce up the place. Leo has been such a big helper on everything! He is very handy with a "srewfipher" loves to mow and as of late he is very big on watering all of our plants! What would we do without our big helper!?

A Boy can dream!

He thought we needed lots of flowers!

This was at Grandmas but still very helpful!

...and at the end of the day we must play!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom -
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom -
I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Mother Day was wonderful! We went to church as a family with my mom, had a family lunch with Mike's mom, spent the afternoon at  the Botanica Gardens and then finally had a dinner at Genghis Grill. Mike went out of his way to make the afternoon special and I really enjoyed all the memories we made having Leo and Lily play in all the flowers! Being a mom has been the best gift ever given to me and I truly feel blessed to have the two most amazing babies!

"Today was Good. Today was Fun. Tomorrow will be another one"- Dr. Seuss

Leosaurus

Our little dinosaur was hungry for some ice cream! The driver got a kick out of Leo's costume, Leo thinks that this costume is everyday apparel so he was confused why everyone was laughing. Fun memories of raising a boy!

He also decided to visit Mike at work in the costume...we used the excuse that "we heard the clinic's treated dinosaurs" All was cured with a sucker!
Leo Loves his "saur" costume!

Waiting to be seen, killing time with coloring!

Thanks God-Mama Sharon for this wonderful costume that Leo wears everyday but Halloween!
 He is so much fun!

Moving

This past month we moved out of our rental house and into a house next to the clinic. It has been amazing being so close to Mike's work! It took a few days for Leo to adjust and realize we were in a different place and that he couldn't just follow daddy to work(yes he tried). We are hoping our renting days are over and that we can really concentrate on saving for a house in the next year. Fingers crossed!

She thought we built her a castle!

EEK! Alot of stuff to move!

He was helping Daddy put together is new toy.

Unpacking

Helping Pap-pa fix the porch!

First sleepover at the new house!

Popcorn a bed time tradition

Lily wanted some too and Leo was "protecting" it

We had to use this mini-fridge for the first week until we bought a  new full size one!
It held
Milk
Diet coke
water
Jelly
applesauce
(Daddy's drinks too)
It taught us what we thought was important, haha.
Now we are almost settled in and things are getting back to a routine so life should get back to normal soon. The house has been empty for a year so we had alot of work to do when we first moved in cleaning mainly and organizing our belongings. The babies share a room now but it is a good size room and it hold both beds with room to play so it works for me! We are adjusting to having carpet again instead of hard wood..mainly Leo can't walk around with his food as much or naked like he likes...too many potty accidents! We are working on the potty training though!
