Experiencing Colorado

Mike and I were able to get away and make a trip to Colorado (my first!) It was wonderful! We are very grateful to my parents for watching the kids for the four days we were gone because I can't imagine doing that road trip with my precious children ;)

Me packing...
 Downtown Denver

Just what I needed.
We drove in late at night so when we woke up we were ready for our Denver adventure! We walked around downtown, went to a movie, swimming and then ate dinner at the Denver Aquarium. Denver was super laid back and even though we were walking around a ton of businesses it seemed so calm and relaxing. Also the weather was amazing, no humidity!

Denver Aquarium

This was our dinner view, we sat in the "water room" which was just a narrow area with tables so that you were surrounded by the tank. Mike was in heaven. If  he could have something similar in his house I know he would!

Then we walked around the aquarium, which of course I ended up getting sick after we ate,  no worries though it passed after about 10 minutes and we were able to enjoy the rest of the evening. Not sure if it was altitude or the food but I was happy it didn't stick.

Touching Sting Rays!

Creepy to me but fascinating to Mike.

Aren't we glad there was thick glass between us!?

Coors Brewery

Next we hit the road for Golden Colorado and did a tour of the Coors Brewery where we were able to taste free samples and even though it was only 11am we sure did enjoy 3 samples a piece!

While we did this tour we were graced with a lot of interesting company including a very chatty older gentlemen that made Mike's day with all his stories. We didn't even catch his name!

Mountains!
On The Road

We drove to Estes Park next where were going to be staying at a Bed and Breakfast. We took a scenic highway so that we could soak up all the beautiful sights. The roads were curvy with tunnels and surrounded by mountains and running streams along the road, very peaceful!

Ignore our dirty windshield please

Wildlife everywhere!
Lily Lake

We were adventuring and came across this Lake so of course we had to stop!

Estes Park

The bed and breakfast we stayed in

The town was so pretty, we ate dinner right by the stream and enjoyed walking around the town that seemed to be surrounded by mountains.

Pizza and Salad!

Mike thought this dessert was worth it

d

My shoes for our walking around the town.

Gorgeous!

 The way out of Town
We had to wear hair nets during the tea tour, I know we look ridiculous.

Before we left we met up with Blazey and Tyler since they live in Longmont and we did two more tours, a celestial seasonings tour (tea) and a boulder beer tour!

12 4oz of boulder brewed beer.

We had to stop for some breakfast and shopping on the way out of Colorado.

I am not kidding when I say the Ikea stop was seriously the most exhausting thing, I don't know if it was because we did it last or because we were so overwhelmed with decorating decisions! We started thinking  since Ikea is so cheap we would buy out the whole store BUT because we are so cheap we ended up only getting two end tables, silly us. I want to go back.

See you later Mountains!

We were glad to be back home and love on our children we missed so much!
